Hit the Road Safely this Summer
Due to COVID-19, many states have placed a travel ban forbidding travel outside of the state in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. In Kentucky, The state-wide travel ban has been lifted this week, just in time for the start of Summer. While many residents may be itching to get out and travel this summer, we encourage you to do so in a safe and healthy manner. Before packing up your F-150 and heading to the lake, ensure you are taking the proper precautions and steps for a great road trip.
Plan Your Route
Preparation is more crucial now than ever when leaving the house. Creating a game plan and road map will help keep you healthy on and off the road. Mapping out where you will stop for gas, food and bathroom breaks allows you to be in control of your stops and gives you the ability to learn the rules and regulations put in place at each stop. For example, some restaurants have moved to no-cash payment and have adjusted their operating hours. Do your research ahead of time so there are no surprises when you hit the road.
Stock up
In order to stick to your route, make sure you stock up on the necessary supplies to save from adding any additional stops to your trip. This includes the essentials — bottled water, snacks, medications — but also products for keeping hands and surfaces clean and sanitized such as hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes.
Leaving the house doesn’t mean you should leave your good hygiene practices at the door. Keeping your healthy hygiene practices on the road is just as important as doing so at home (for instance, washing hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating and after using the restroom).
Service Your Vehicle
Ensuring the health of your vehicle is extremely important before heading out on a long road trip. By servicing your vehicle beforehand, you can prevent any avoidable service issues and ensure you arrive at your destination without any unwanted stops to fix your car. Our service department has implemented various safety measures to provide a safe experience for both you and your vehicle.
