Long-Time Paul Miller Ford Customer Creates Model of 1967 Fairlane GT

A long-time customer of Paul Miller Ford, Randy, grew up in Lexington, KY, but left the state in the late ’70s. While he may have left KY, he remains a loyal follower and fan of Paul Miller. During his youth, he spent a lot of time wandering the lot at Paul Miller Ford, dreaming of which cars he would like to own someday. Each fall he would visit the dealership to get a peek at the new model year cars. Randy’s most memorable experience at Paul Miller Ford was at the age of 12 years old when his Dad took him to the dealership to witness the introduction of the original Mustang; a moment Randy will never forget. Another memory that Randy will never forget is years later looking at a row of 1969 Boss 429 Mustangs, the 1970 Boss 302 Mustang, a beautiful 1968 Torino GT convertible, and a whole host of other cars that he loved.

One of his favorite cars that he has ever personally owned was a 1967 Fairlane GT (even over a 1964 Corvette that he later owned in life). In the 50 years, or so since Randy has owned that Fairlane, he always considered it “the one that got away” and he has always regretted not keeping it for longer.

Randy’s love for cars has brought him to a love for scale modeling. One of his most recent projects, he completed to pass the time during COVID-19, is a tribute to his memories of Paul Miller Ford. Since there were no 1967 Fairlane model kits available, Randy had to use a 1966 model to recreate a clone of the real car that he owned and loved. To add a unique spin to the car, Randy decided to go with a racing theme, as he has always been a big fan of the 1966 factory racing R-Code Fairlanes. With the past experiences and memories with Paul Miller Ford, there was no way he was going to build that car without paying tribute to a huge part of his youth, Paul Miller Ford.
